I pretty much agree with your take on it. A reboot might actually be good... but it won't be 'Buffy'.

Not will it be part of the same canon as Seasons 1 - 8 plus 'Angel', unless Joss agrees to take the new movie into account when writing anything else Buffy-related. :-)
