Very deliberately. I love silly word games, and Joss obviously does too, both Willow and Buffy have a tendency to be sidetracked by double meanings etc... "That demon you slayed last nigh- or is it slew?" So I figured that seemed like something Willow might say if sufficiently... uh... in the mood. Thanks for catching it, though! :-)
