beer_good_foamy has created a beautifully poignant piece with Mission Accomplished. Giles’ last mission as Buffy’s Watcher, the agony of having to prepare her for burial, feels like a knife to your heart. Add in the snippets from a past teacher, and it takes this short story to an even higher level of breathtaking pain that will have you sobbing. A must read in my opinion.
Also, a bit belated (sorry, Kelly), from

Huge thanks, and congrats to everyone on my flist who picked up stuff!
Also, a few nominations. You guys are too kind, really. :-)
I'm nominated at
sog_awards for Trail Of The Pbuffalo (best gen, best fluff/lighthearted), In Alphabetical Order (best gen), Stylish, Yet Affordable (best drabble) and, shucks, best author.
Trail Of The Pbuffalo is also up for Best Gen and Best Comedy at the Sunny D Awards.
And finally, Dawn Of The Dead is up for Best Fluff/Comedy at
unlocked_awards, which is apparently brand new and needs more nominees.
ETA: Dawn of the Dead was also nominated at
rwsawards for "Best old fic." Yay!
Short writing update: Haven't gotten much done lately thanks to work and other things, but I'm desperately trying to get something written for halloween. It's a ghost story, though not a typical ghost story. We'll see what comes of it.

It's actually sort of a meta-ghost story with no actual ghosts in it, but it's as close to halloween as I get this year, I guess. I know what I want it to do, I just need to get the characters to agree somehow. :-)

I'd never read "Mission Accomplished" before. It may be the single best piece of BtVS I've ever read. I recced it here (http://green-maia.livejournal.com/218210.html) - hope that's okay!
