Halloween drabble

Happy halloween, folks! And good luck to those about to submerge themselves in that delightful hell known as NaNoWriMo.

Here's a drabble for

open_on_sunday's challenge "Eve".

And You Should See The Pumpkins

Janie adjusted her black-and-white costume and knocked. "Trick or treat?"

A smiling blonde woman opened. "Kaaaaaark!"

"...Sorry?"

"You're a penguin! Penguins like fish. Enjoy!" She handed Janie a can of sardines.

"Uh... no. I'm EVE." Janie flapped her "wings" demonstratively.

"Oh, Eve! The first human woman! Enjoy!" An apple.

"No... y'know, EVE. From Wall-E?" Blank stare. "A robot...?"

”Really?” The woman's face brightened. "I'm a robot too! What are you programmed to - "

A redheaded woman clamped her hand over the blonde's mouth and tossed Janie a Snickers. "Uh, happy halloween! Buffybot - inside."

Janie shrugged and continued her round. Adults are weird.
