Descend drabble

For [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday's challenge "Descend" and [livejournal.com profile] writercon100's challenge "Fall." I'm efficient sometimes.

A Calm Sea Does Not A Skilled Sailor Make
Post-Season 6

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are beginning our descent towards Heathrow. Please fasten your seatbelts and return your seatbacks to their upright position."

Giles glances down at the city far below as the jumbo jet banks and dips its wing. Beside him, Willow hasn't moved or spoken for hours. Now she grips the armrests even tighter, her knuckles white.

The plane lurches, falls a few hundred feet, as if remembering that it's heavier than air. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are experiencing some slight turbulence. Please remain seated."

Giles puts his hand on Willow's. She doesn't relax, but the plane lands safely.

Your Willow/Giles post-Grave snippets are just marvelous. There's just the perfect amount of tug at the ol' heartstrings without being over/melodramatic. Instead it just lingers in my brain and thumps in my heart.

Especially the drabble thats linked in the comments where Willow asks if it'll hurt much. Wow. Just wow. Less is more and especially in that instance. That one I've honestly been thinking about all day. You should (please?) write more and/or if you know of other stories similar, would you mind illuminating your readers? Kthanks.

Bravo again. Truly.

Belated reply, sorry. But thanks so much! I do have a few ideas for some more drabbles about Giles' and Willow's trip to England, I'm hoping to get them done at some point.
