Drabblage

Two for [livejournal.com profile] still_grrr, one for [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday:

Title: The Chicken That Was Not A Chicken
Author: Beer Good ([livejournal.com profile] beer_good_foamy)
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 100
Prompt: Monster Island
Characters/Pairing (if any): Oz/Willow
A/N: If you don't know about Seth Green's TV series Robot Chicken, this drabble will probably make little sense.

Oz has the strangest dreams sometimes. Not Willowishly weird, but still... weird. As if it's not really him dreaming them.

Like the one he keeps having, where he has his own kingdom of small plastic monsters to do his bidding. He can pit Skeletor against Darth Vader, Megatron against Chucky, the Coreys against Michael Jackson. It feels disturbingly good to play God, knowing his audience cannot but keep watching as he invents new ways to torture the denizens of his little private island.

Then he's shook awake.

"Oz?"

"Stupid monkey..."

"What did you call me?"

"Uh... sorry, Will. Weird dream."

Title: University of Pylea Physics Dept.
Author: Beer Good ([livejournal.com profile] beer_good_foamy)
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 100
Prompt: Portal Through Time
Characters/Pairing (if any): Fred

158 days (159?) since hot showers, computers, public transport, refrigerators and a lot of things she's forgetting.

She's spent years learning stuff, when did it get so hard? She's supposed to be one of those thinkers who advance mankind's knowledge. She can explain Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, Einstein's theory of relativity, quantum mechanics... the other slaves hate her since they keep having to show her how to build a fire, skin a goat, even what leaves to wipe her ass with.

Fred counts the days on fingers whose nails are worn down to the flesh. 159, 160. One more memory gone.

Title: Slash
Author: Beer Good ([livejournal.com profile] beer_good_foamy)
Rating: PG13
Word Count: 100
Prompt: Fandom
Characters/Pairing (if any): William The Not Yet Very Bloody

London, 1864

"William?"

"Yes, Mother?"

"I was in your room, and I happened to lay eyes on... on... would you care to explain the meaning of these pages you've written?"

"Oh... um... it's for school, Mother. We're reading Pride and Prejudice."

"Don't give me that. You can't possibly dream of presenting... filth such as this in school."

"It's not -"

"It is! Moreover, it is emphatically NOT what happens in Miss Austen's book!"

"Um... that's precisely it, Mother, it's about subverting the reader's expectations, and... playing with established canon, and... um..."

"Honestly, William. Darcy/Wickham? I swear, sometimes I fear for your soul."

XD Love the first one, but that Slash one... priceless.

*giggles* I love the first one. I can picture Oz with his little plastic kingdom which is occasionally visited by the animal crackers. LOL

Robot chicken is on here at like 3am but I have seen some episodes, Seth has a very warped sense of humour. These are really good, had me laughing out loud so you did yer job well.

[identity profile] beer-good-foamy.livejournal.com 2007-07-23 10:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hehe. Thanks!

[identity profile] beer-good-foamy.livejournal.com 2007-07-23 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I fear for the animal crackers if that's the case. Random Robot Chicken quote:

CAREBEAR: "Y'all know what time it is. It's bedtime! And by 'bed' I mean 'ethnic' and by 'time', I mean 'cleansing'!"

It's one of the... weirdest shows on TV.

Thanks!

Thanks! Actually, 3AM is probably the perfect time to watch Robot Chicken.

The Robot Chicken one is hilarious. "Stupid monkey...". Hee! Love it.

And a total "Ouch." for the Fred one.

Thanks! I always figured there needs to be more Fred-in-Pylea fic - hell, it's FIVE YEARS of torture, there has to be a lot we can do with that.

[identity profile] vilajunkie.livejournal.com 2007-07-24 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Haha! I never thought I would see someone do Jane Austen slash. Now, perhaps, I can say I've truly seen everything. Or maybe not...

Robot Chicken is one of the most fucked up shows I've ever seen, yet it's hilarious. It pleases me that he get all/most of his former Buffy castmates to come on the show. They're so typecast it's not like they'll be able to do much else anyway. I loved the "You Can't Do That on Television!" sketch. Speaking of Seth, have you seen that movie where he stars with Dax and the guy who plays Shaggy in some camping adventure?

P.S. In my World Religions class, I watched a video about Jewish holidays and Allyson played the daughter (this was pre-Buffy of course).

Hee. These are great! I especially love the last one ... William writing slash for school ... brilliant!

[identity profile] beer-good-foamy.livejournal.com 2007-07-24 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

I've seen that movie in the bargain bin of just about every single video store, but I've never bothered watching it. Any good?

(I always thought it was creepy that the two roles I saw Seth in pre-Buffy was in My Stepmother Is An Alien, where he plays Alyson Hannigan's boyfriend, and It where he's scared to death of... werewolves.)

Thanks! I poke so much fun at Angel, I had to deflate Spike a little bit too for good measure, haha.

[identity profile] vilajunkie.livejournal.com 2007-07-24 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You're welcome!

It's an ok movie. It's a stereotypical guy flick, but I don't know if that really makes a difference to you. Seth plays a doctor.

(You know, I've seen both those movies and never knew that? Especially with [i]It[/i], and that's been on TV quite a few times in the last couple years.)

Like the Fred one one of the things often explored in post apoc fic is the usefulness of our higher specialised skillsets in situations.

A riff on the Spaceman/caveman argument. Farmer or scientists. Nice that this touches on that.

[identity profile] beer-good-foamy.livejournal.com 2007-07-24 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! It's a tricky situation, certainly; how much 20th century higher education is useful in a stone-age society? If I ever write a longer Fred-in-Pylea fic, there'll be a lot about that - Fred is smart enough to figure it out, but I'm betting it took a while to get the hang of it...
