What's wrong with just writing fanfic?

Hey guys, remember when some Firefly fans thought they could get a season 2 by sending money to anonymous twitter handles?

Well... Some Star Wars fanboys have decided to take this to the next level and remake that famed super flop, The Last Jedi.

How will they do this? I'm glad you asked. They will first demand that Disney surrender the rights to Star Wars, which I'm sure they'll do if you just ask nicely. They will then raise money from The People (even though they claim their "team of producers" already have the money), write the whole thing by committee (because that's always a hallmark of quality) and, somehow, get Carrie Fisher to star in it. No, really.
