1. I won stuff!

Huge thanks to nominators and jury, and congrats to all other winners! You can read all the winning stories here.
2. 2013 end-of-year summary:
Fic
Development Hell, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 and epilogue (AtS5; Buffy, Lorne, Andrew, OCs)
In which I got to spoof various fandom discussions, ideas on how mainstream entertainment works, and Buffy trying to be on vacation.
All But Left To Hunger (AtS post-series; Drusilla/Faith)
In which I tried to do something with the idea that Faith and Drusilla are intimately connected by the actions of others and themselves even though they never actually met in canon.
If The Dead Rise (Or Not) (BtVS post-series; Buffy/Faith)
Which started as a three-sentence fic and grew into a rather neat little idea, I think.
Not In The Brochure (BtVS7; Buffy/Spike)
In which both Spike and I worship at the altar of Joyce Summers.
The Colours Of My Life (BtVS post-series; Willow & Faith)
Which is one of quite a few fics I wrote this year that had two characters discuss where the end of the series leaves them.
How To Drain Your Flagon (AtS/Game of Thrones crossover; Wes & Drogo)
Which was probably the most fun crossover I've written in some time.
Door, Door (Breaking Bad; Jesse/Jane, zombie!fic)
I tumbled headfirst into Breaking Bad fanhood about this time last year, and I fell hard. But I honestly hadn't expected to write fic for it until I came up with this prompt for the zombie ficathon and then had to fill it myself.
Get Some Walking In (West Wing; CJ/Danny, zombie!fic)
Because West Wing canon has a lot, but no actual zombies.
I'll Always Opt To Fall Down These Stairs (BtVS post-series; Buffy/Faith)
Which is the only wingfic I've ever written.
Radio Silence (BtvS/Welcome to Night Vale crossover; The Gentlemen, Cecil/Carlos)
Which has me dipping into another new fandom, and was a bit of a challenge to write - how do you write a radio show when the narrator loses his voice?
Telling Porkies (BtVS2; Dawn, Mr Gordo, Buffy)
Because there needs to be more pre-s5 fic with Dawn in it.
Spike: Mall Santa (BtVS post-series; Buffy/Spike)
Because it's Spike as a mall santa.
Drabbles
A Ship, The Black Freighter (BtVS; Faith)
Help Yourself (BtVS; Wes, Faith, Buffy)
Survival (BtVS; Kendra, Sam Zabuto)
Who You Gonna Call? (BtVS/Surprise crossover)
Camouflage (AtS; All-penguin AU)
Giles haiku
Hot Dog (BtVS; Xander)
Meta etc
Some thoughts on Game of Thrones
Two quick mini-meta posts on translating Buffy and atheistic/theistic viewpoints in scifi
Scattered Thoughts on TV, mostly focused on Breaking Bad
How I learned to stop settling and demand quality trash
And the meme:
Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, fewer than you thought, or about what you predicted?
About the same. Which is a bit surprising since most of the ones I did write took far more work than they should have.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2012?
Welcome to Night Vale took me completely by surprise. I can't say I ever expected to write Breaking Bad fic either, especially not with zombies involved, and especially without it turning into comedy.
What's your favourite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest?
Probably "Telling Porkies". Unless it's just because it's so recent; I'm pretty happy with "Door, Door" as well.
Okay, NOW your most popular story.
Going by comments and kudos on LJ, DW and AO3, it looks to be either "Radio Silence", "Not In The Brochure" or "How To Drain Your Flagon". It's weird, dipping your toe into a brand-new fandom you're not really "in" apart from one fic; I have no idea who the people reading "Radio Silence" are, if it's been recced someplace, but I'm very grateful.
Story most under appreciated by the universe?
I'm rather happy with "I'll Always Opt To Fall Down These Stairs", but it didn't really pick up a lot of comments on LJ/DW, at least. And "A Ship, The Black Freighter" has an idea I really like and may have to do something more with, even though I'm not sure it can be done in a drabble; Faith looking back on that one moment at the end of "Revelations" where she chose to not talk to Buffy.
Story that could have been better?
Both "I'll Always..." and "All But Left To Hunger" suffer a bit from the same problem: They were written for femslash challenges, and then drifted more towards gen so the pairing bit felt a little forced. And speaking of which...
Sexiest story?
Again, "I'll Always..." could have gone a lot smuttier if the story had wanted to. With the wings, and the tail, and the horns, and the... but it was not to be.
Most fun story?
"Get Some Walking In", because once you start writing Sorkin dialogue, the story just runs away with itself.
Story with single sweetest moment?
I really like the ending of "Telling Porkies". The whole fic was basically an attempt to subvert a very serious episode into silly childish comedy, and then back again, and I think it rather works.
Hardest story to write?
"How To Drain Your Flagon" seemed impossible right up until about 72 hours before deadline, when it just suddenly wrote itself. I mean, out of all the characters in all the fandoms I could write, I get charged with staging a meeting between Wesley and Drogo? What are they supposed to do, exactly?
Easiest story to write?
"Not In The Brochure"; comment!fic the way it should be.
Who did you rip off for titles this year?
Let's see; Beth Orton, Black Sabbath, The Bible (sort of), The Birthday Party, Monty Python, Regina Spektor, Bertolt Brecht and Tom Jones.
New Year Fic Resolutions?
Really, anything will be good. I have this ridiculously ambitious idea for a fic cycle simply called Golem which will involve a bunch of different stories, but I have no idea if I'll be able to get it off the ground. And I also really want to write the Twelfth Doctor before Moffat gets to him.
