I should perhaps not be quite as harsh on it. It's far from completely humour-free, and there is some nice character work (especially from Gomez, who makes a really good villain without ever playing her as either Sue White or Missy). There are lots of lovely individual moments in Sabrina; it's just the overarching episode and season plots that are straight out of Teenage Fantasy For Dummies. Within those plots they get some nice work done, but I wish they'd had the guts to be more subversive and darkly comedic overall.
