Yeah, I could buy it as the straw that breaks the camel's back, only the camel has mostly seemed pretty lightly loaded so far; Xander's seemed the most together and balanced of the whole gang for most of the comics. Though of course that might be the old Sunnydale Repression Syndrome kicking in. We'll see.
The relationship itself seems to work well, yeah, which is probably the reason I can suspend disbelief a bit - I still think it goes against every single scene either of them had in the TV show, but it works now. In a spectacularly cracky way. :-)
