The whole issue of "the greater good" really is tricky, and I pretty much agree with you about Faith and Angel - there's Angel's epiphany again, "if nothing we do matters then all that matters is what we do." Any time a Buffy character starts making sacrifices "for the greater good", you know it's not going to end well... :-)
