[livejournal.com profile] sl_podcast and her minions have done it again: over at Strangely Literal, there's a great reading of my Angel/HP Lovecraft crossover ficlet The Call Of Illyria.

Listen to it here.

Also, someone just recced me this, and I love it to tiny little bits. It's an Aliens fic set back on Earth, in the form of a series of e-mails between lowly Weyland-Yutani employees trying to figure out what to do with this unkillable monster Burke sent back to Earth... which is hard enough before office politics enter into it. Alternately hilarious and creepy as hell. No real canon knowledge needed, either.
Saw the Chair briefly yesterday. Senator Barnett's office contacted him directly with their concerns, and he called me into his office to discuss the report.

I shared your concerns with him, and your strong recommendation that the creature should be euthanized. I may have mentioned that it was for the best, but a pity, because in its way it's a rather beautiful thing, and once it's gone no one will have the chance to see it the way it really looked.

He wants it mounted and in his office.

Get on that, will you? Next week should be plenty of time.

Killing Elvis by David Hines.

Also, [personal profile] frogfarm just finished the latest chapter of Faith The Vampire Slayer, which I'm off to read now.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. *nods* In my review I said Killing Elvis is like Aliens meets The Office. :P I admit I was terribly afraid for poor JD. He was smart, though, getting into the cage was his best chance for survival.

Killing Elvis was fabulously funny, except I accidentally sent the link to my vegan friend (*).

(*) That sounds so patronizing, as opposed to a vegan friend. Like I only have one, as a token.

Also, yay, and off to read feedback glorious feedbag!

Well, it's not like they're planning to eat Elvis. Though that would make an interesting cookbook. In fact, I'm wondering why there isn't more recipe!fic in fandoms with a lot of different alien/demon races. Though perhaps I shouldn't be. Though at the very least, you'd think someone would have used it as a setup for "Five tastes Spike likes to add to his blood" fic or something. But I digress. It's an awesome fic, isn't it? I'm just trying to imagine exactly what Threat Display #33 looks like.
