End of year fic roundup

I feel like I've done nothing this year, but there's actually a decent amount when you sum it up. Huge thanks to anyone and everyone who read any of it!
The Pieces That Prevailed (BtVS): Season 7 Willow bumps into pre-season 1 Willow. You know how you're never supposed to interfere with the past? Well, it would be nice to at least get the chance...
All In A Day's Work (BtVS/Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots): To be fair, Buffy wasn't entirely sure how she was supposed to stop a giant robot about to attack Tokyo. But still, being told that someone else would handle it felt a bit weird. And wait, they get paid for it too? Gen.
They Are Likely To (BtVS/Zork): Drabble: The First Evil makes a fatal mistake.
For the three-sentence ficathon:
Ballad (LotR/Star Trek)
Don't Let Me (BtVS, Faith/Willow)
Rashersmasher (The Avengers)
Summertime (Moomins)
And We Will Hang (The Secret History)
Fee, Fie (Discworld)
Don't Rock the Moat (Agent Carter): Late one night a few months after the season 1 finale, Peggy gets a phone call. Apparently, that thing she did on Brooklyn Bridge has come back to haunt New York City. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem to pose a major threat. Or a captain one either. Peggy/Angie.
C Is For Zombie (BtVS): When Buffy doesn’t return to Sunnydale after the events of season 2, and the various legions of undead start to take advantage of this, someone else has to step in and protect the town their way. They don’t call her Queen C for nothing. Gen.
Untimely (BtVS/Firefly): Drusilla and Zoe meet up in a bar. The last vampire in the 'verse has plans, all she needs is someone who knows what it feels like to lose everything. Zoe/Wash.
First One To Turn the Wheel Is A Chicken (BtVS): Faith and Willow play truth or dare. Very transparent cover stories ensue. Faith/Willow.
Avant Gardener (BtVS): Drabble about Buffy tackling a classic monster. Gen.
Nevermind the Darkness (AtS): everyone smiles at us like we're the cutest couple/ let's do something wrong. Fred and Cordy getting ready to go to the ballet. Fred/Cordelia.
The Lamb Is Caught in the Blackberry Patch (BtVS): Drabble about that kid in the opening scene of "Lie to Me". Gen.
Pig in the City (BtVS): Mr Gordo drabble, inspired by recent revelations in British politics. Gen.
Canaries In A Coal Mine (BtVS): They probably expected the apocalypse to look a lot different. "Probably" since, well, nobody's quite sure if they can trust their memories now that there seems to be worldwide amnesia pandemic. Trying to keep their heads cool while everyone around is losing theirs, Dawn and Faith take some of the last Slayers on a roadtrip trying to find a cure. Gen.
A Few Things And A Lizard (Doctor Who): When Clara doesn't join him after the events of "Deep Breath", the Doctor picks up another companion. A big, sexy woman with legs up to here, a tail that won't quit, and big, nasty, pointy teeth. The fix-it fic to end all fix-it fics: The Doctor, in the TARDIS, with a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Gen.
The True Meaning of Whatever (BtVS): The new president wants the Slayers to deal with the fabled War On Christmas. Gen-ish.

Leitmotif(s) of the year:
Memories, I suppose? You have both "The Pieces That Prevailed" and "Canaries in a Coal Mine" asking the question how you can be sure of what you remember, "Nevermind the Darkness" has Fred start to move the Pylea shit into a pile marked "The past", "Don't Rock the Moat" has Peggy getting over losing Steve while not letting go of him, "Untimely" has Drusilla try to exploit Zoe's memories of Wash's death...
My best story of this year: I'm not 100% happy with any of these, but then I never am. I do think "The Pieces That Prevailed" and "Canaries in a Coal Mine" are very successful at what they're supposed to do.
What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.
For certain values of "happy", "Canaries in a Coal Mine". That story woke me up and demanded to be written down, and I love it when my bunny patch throws me curveballs even if they give me nightmares. I'm also happy that I finally managed to work one of my favourite fanwanks, the Magical Pants Demon, into a story ("First One...").
Okay, NOW your most popular story.
Going by AO3 stats it's definitely "Don't Rock the Moat". Helps that it's in a recent fandom, I suppose. Buffyverse-wise, it's "The Pieces That Prevailed".
Story of mine most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I don't know about "underappreciated", but I do think "Canaries in a Coal Mine" is better than the hit count on AO3 would have you think. But in that eternal battlecry of the fanfic writer, I suck at summaries.
Story that could have been better?
"Nevermind the Darkness" sort of chickens out.
Sexiest story?
I wrote nothing even R-rated this year, but I think both "First One To Turn the Wheel..." and "Don't Rock the Moat" hint nicely at naughtiness.
Hardest story to write:
"All In A Day's Work" wasn't really hard to write, but I put it off literally for years because I figured nobody would be interested in a crossover with a relatively obscure song. Shows what I know.
Easiest story to write?
Again, for certain values of "easy", "Canaries in a Coal Mine". It arrived pretty much fully-formed.
Holy crap, that's wrong even for you
Well, since David Cameron fucking a pig is canon, I can't take credit for that element of "Pig in the City".
Story I haven't yet written, but intend to:
I really need to finish that white walker POV fic. Think I'll give myself a deadline and bash it out. Go team! I'd also like to at least write something about Jessica Jones.

Well... Cameron himself eventually denied it, but given how many of his fans' and colleagues' first response was "Oh come on, who hasn't fucked a dead pig at college?", I'm going to go with "Where there's smoke, there's bacon." :)
