Congrats everyone, we just won a Hugo. (The ones actually building and maintaining the site and its organisation somewhat more so, but still.) Raise a glass.
Full list of winners here. I wish Brooke Bolander had won Best Novelette, that book is awesome.

Date: 2019-08-19 07:08 pm (UTC)Still creating; should you be interested, but more and more they are staying in my head and not even making it to pencil and paper.
Seriously enjoying watching Deadwood again, and I haven't even got to Calamity Jane and Joanie Stubbs meeting. Cried over the; at first appearance real-bad-piece-work Al Swearengen putting the preacher out of his suffering; especially at the Doc praying; begging God to explain why he needed to suffer; why the Soldiers had had to treat during the Civil War had to suffer, and why God needed to hear their piteous cries.
What a show! And another example of something that died before it's time.
Started re-watching The Closer and Degrassi again; might even watch some of those Who's I've never watched despite downloading them.
Fanfic is there; just don't see posting anything in the foreseeable.
Anyway comgrats. Back to The Pretty Reckless; love that band.

Date: 2019-08-25 08:34 pm (UTC)I keep meaning to revisit Deadwood, especially now that the movie is out. I remember loving the first season, and then somehow it dropped off my radar (way back in the ancient days of old technology where you had to actually get DVDs to watch a show). Maybe I should just get around to it.

Date: 2019-08-25 08:54 pm (UTC)For a show that is so ridden with racism; misogyny; evil and the downright crudity of white 'manifest destiny' the show is also full of people finding good within themselves out of the most base of circumstances; the Preacher; the Doc; Trixie; even Al Swearengen at times, especially when you hear snippets of his personal history (why Jewel is there at The Gen for example).
Haven't seen S3 yet; despite having had the DVDs for a long time, because I knew it had been cancelled before it's time and seen some stuff about what was coming. Now I know about a movie; though I'll have to, like Wynonna Earp, likely have to wait for piracy to watch it, I'll have some sense of future conclusion (though the reminder of Powers Boothe's passing was a sadness) ~ what an evil character Cy Tolliver is/was.
Like I said still creating, though I'm mot at all certain that, without elisi, I'd even be contemplating posting anything anywhere. Personally my life seems to get worse and more meaningless on a daily basis and it feels a struggle even to keep going one day at a time.
And yet, I still keep finding myself creating fanfic; mostly in my head now, every time I watch or listen to something.
