Who else could play both Bergman protagonists and Ming the Merciless, exorcists and Star Wars, Satan and Christ, Game of Thrones and period dramas, dying men and quipping spies, Woody Allen and Dune, hard-working emigrants and Bond villains...



The world is a little less colourful and I'll be rewatching The Seventh Seal tonight.

And I had just last year rewatched the remastered Exorcist, along with two different documentaries on the making of. As well as Citizen X, which I caught on first broadcast one night while babysitting.

[Edit] And I'd forgotten that he was in the original Conan as "King Osric". Which is now even more meaningful since I've watched Samurai Jack, specifically one of my favorite episodes "The Three Archers", where Jack seeks the mystic well of King Osric.

Yeah. He didn't always do great movies (Needful Things... such a missed opportunity) but he was almost always the best thing in them.

Yeah. Over 60 years, and active right up to the end. Few actors can top that.
