Dark Side of the Moon is still one of the best pieces of music I know, and this sits right at the centre. Nothing else ever sounded like it. Also, this video is, as I believe the kids say, #2020mood.

1959 was a so-so year for rock and pop, but it was a banner year for jazz. Kind of Blue by Miles Davis. Ah Um by Charles Mingus. Giant Steps by John Coltrane.

Can't forget Ornette.

I gravitated to all of these albums as an adult, completely unaware they were made during my birth year; it's as if I were bio-electrically attuned to find them.

(Or maybe it's because they're great fucking records.)

Very much the same with me and 1973. Dark Side, Raw Power, Berlin, Closing Time, Aladdin Sane, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Paris 1919... A lot of great people either breaking through or hitting an early peak.

This was the only cover version on the Flaming Lips cover album that I really enjoyed.

I kind of like that whole album, but then I like pretty much anything the Flaming Lips do. At least their take on it is better than Phish's.
