One of the bits I like about the comics is that Joss, so far, is refusing to give us a teacher's-edition-style answer to exactly what his OTPs are; the whole shipping thing gets so ridiculously overblown sometimes, and as much as some things about the comics make very little sense, they would be a lot duller if he had simply paired everyone up in even fan-approved pairs and had them shagging living happily. So here's a silly little icon to celebrate Joss at least messing with some expectations.

Though I'll admit that Butsu sounds like something you order in a Japanese restaurant. And Buffy/Ethan is hopeless; it's either Buthan (it's a gas, gas, gas) or... um... Iffy.

Well the gas is technically Buthane so that's safe but still wrong and nasty.

I had no idea, and that's very interesting - I love linguistics and keep meaning to learn more about how Japanese works (I've long since given up on actually learning the language itself). So the Japanese have different suffixes to numbers depending on what sort of nouns they count?

You know what the worst thing is? I've read a fic that comes v. close to chapter 3 in this story - and it was really, really good. Well Spike hadn't been raped (cause, wtf?) and stuff, but...

Seriously, Riley The Rapist may be one of the most mind-boggling yet overused characterizations ever. I'm not a huge fan of the character, but... where the hell did THAT come from? It's a bit like Kennedy The Abusive Cheating Girlfriend or Evil Murdering Oz (both surprisingly common in Willow/Tara fic) or Plotting And Evil-for-the-sake-of-it Faith. You'd think that if people dislike a certain character enough to besmirch them in their fics, they dislike them for a reason, something they did on the show - and should be able to use their canonical bad sides for making them look bad rather than invent brand-new ones. Especially if the ONLY thing they can think of to make someone seem evil is to have them rape someone.

But I guess at some point some writer read about the rape (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapeseed) fields in Iowa and ran with it...

I'm actually interested in the Xander/Buffy sex relationship (if it actually happened) I wanna know how it happened, and a drunken night followed by sexual need nights sounds like a very good fic, reminds me of a Xander/Buffy fic I read awhile ago set between S6 and S7.
