Re-Enactment
1990-ish
Drusilla dances, moving between shadows and light as the flames roar behind her. Then she missteps, frowns, stops. "Why won't they sing the right song, Spike?"
"I thought you liked this song."
"Oh, I do." She's dancing again, moving with the screams from the burning church as they grow fainter. "It's just the wrong song. Not like the lady on the telly."
He grins. "Call it a hunch, Dru, but I don't think this is how Madonna did that video." Then he stands back, watching her dance against the fire, his goddess of destruction and creation. It feels like home.
