beer_good_foamyPosted Footrest over at open_on_sunday. OK, so I've written a similar scene once before, but it seemed to fit. I always thought "vampire healing" seemed way too easy on the show. I mean, c'mon, that's gotta hurt.
Footrest
The worst part wasn't the nerve endings reconnecting, though all the whiskey in the world didn't help there. The agony as his pulverized legs pieced themselves back together cell by cell, his body – dead by all rights – fighting the demon's healing every step of the way.
No, the worst part was the helplessness. Watching him claim her like 100 years never happened. Smelling him on her. Hearing her laugh.
Spike carefully lifted one foot off the wheelchair's footrest. It hurt like hell, but he smiled and flexed his new toes. Just a few more days.
Then for the good part.
