January drabbles: Tara + 2

Today's drabble subject is... Tara.
Title: Weakness

Rating: PG13
Character: Tara
Timeline: Summer between s5 and s6
Word count: 100
Willow hates her freckles. She'd never say so, but the trouble she goes to to hide them – make-up, long sleeves – says enough. Once Buffy suggested that she should dress a little sexier; Willow responded with a rant about pale skin, sun and skin cancer. That's not it, though.
Everyone thinks Willow's the strongest, "the boss of us" who carries Buffy's absence on her shoulders.
At night, Tara holds her until the shaking stops. There's a cluster of freckles right below Willow's shoulderblade; she runs her hand across it, kisses it. It's a part of Willow only she gets to see.
Title: Even if she never...

Character: Tara
Timeline: Alt. future after "The Weight of the World"
Word count: 100
Tara has good days.
She has days when things almost make sense. She can string thoughts together, look at the woman next to her and remember her name. She sees red hair turning grey, lines forming around green eyes. She knows Willow still loves her and will always take care of her, and wants to tell her to stop, it's useless, she's throwing her life away on someone who will never get better.
Those days are few and far between. Mostly it's all chaos, confusion, terror, insanity and nothing makes sense.
Those are the good days. When she doesn't know.

Also, this week's prompt at
open_on_sunday is "calculating". Here's two:
Easy As Pi
A/N: Geeky punchline alert.
"452?" Willow blinked. "Wow, that's..."
"I-I know it's pretty geeky..." Fred grinned, embarrassed. "It's just... Here's this number that people have known about forever, and everyone uses it but no one knows exactly what it is, 3.141592653 and on and on and... I thought it would be cool to see how far I could trace it."
"Oh, hey, Sunnydale's biggest non-evil science nerd here. I mostly used my calculator for pi, though. But memorizing 452 digits, that's pretty darn impressive... I'd, uh, love to hear them sometime...?"
"Sure." Fred blushed, then frowned. "Wait, did I say memorize? I meant calculated."
Plus Equals
Buffy kept count. She wasn't sure why; it seemed like a thing to do, sorta goal-oriented. She debated whether to count the ones where Angel or Xander did the actual staking, but settled for counting the ones she did with her own two hands.
One night, 198 under her belt, she was hoping for a nice, even milestone to celebrate. She got jumped by four vamps and barely got out alive. 202.
Two days later, she and Faith tore up a nest in broad daylight. Vamps went up in flames everywhere. She lost count, and never took it up again.
