The "ten songs" meme: Comment and I'll give you a letter. In your journal, list ten of your favorite songs that begin with that letter. [livejournal.com profile] bakatulip gave me K, which isn't really a very common letter for song titles to start with, so it took some thinking. But here goes, with youtube links where I could find them:

Kool Thing – Sonic Youth feat. Chuck D
Killing Floor – Jimi Hendrix Experience
Knockin' On Heaven's Door – Bob Dylan
King Ink – The Birthday Party
Kidnapping an Heiress – Black Box Recorder
Kill All Hippies - Primal Scream
Kiss Off – Violent Femmes
Kill Surf City – Jesus and Mary Chain
Kicks – Lou Reed
Kentucky Avenue – Tom Waits

If you want to do this, comment and I'll give you a letter.

And for [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday's prompt "School":

Nobody Likes A Know-It-All

Wendell crawled from his grave confused; he remembered walking home late after tutoring Larry in history, someone grabbing him, and biting him, and -

Part of him recognized the girl hunched over a schoolbook nearby as his classmate Buffy, but his instincts just screamed "food!" As he snuck up behind her, she threw the book down and yelled at it. "This is dumb! Why do I need to know who said 'those who don't know their history are bound to repeat it'?"

He couldn't help himself. "George Santayana."

She spun around. "Oh. Thanks, Wendell." Then she picked up a crossbow and -

Oh poor Wendell! Couldn't Buffy have kept him chained up in the yard to help with her homework or something?

Heh. Now there's a thought... although, can you imagine Angel's reaction when he finds out Buffy keeps a young male vampire chained up at home? Thanks!

Depends. Are we talking canonical jealous, petty Angel, or slashtastic 70s-porn-film Angel?
;-)

Depends. Does slashtastic 70s-porn-film Angel have that ridiculous Magnum-style moustache he had in "Amends"?

He wouldn't like it. In fact, he'd probably have to go away and brood for a whole month, poor bloke.

Spike, on the other hand, might well applaud her for her ingenuity.

Oh yes, he'd brood. Well, first he'd whine, then he'd try and take the moral high ground, and then he'd brood.

Poor Wendell. At least he was useful before he met his dusty end.

I own at least half those songs.

Then get the other half too, goddamnit! :-) Thanks!

Poor Wendell. But talk about bringing it on yourself ...

The only song I recognized was "knockin' on Heaven's Door"!

Heh, yeah. I'm sure Wendell was mentally kicking himself as he dusted. :-) Thanks!
