Here's the closest I've ever come to Giles/Spike. Don't ask me why. For [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday's challenge "Eureka."

The Buoyancy Principle

“Rupert?”

Ignore him.

"Ruuuuuupert?"

"What?" Giles opened the bathroom door and glared at the shackled vampire in his bathtub.

"I'm bored. Fancy a quiz? What did Archimedes discover - "

Giles slammed the door and returned to his books. He realised something was wrong an hour later, when his socks grew damp.

After wading to the bathroom, he found Spike grinning in the overflowing tub, running the tap with his feet. "If you want your carpet to live, either undo my chains or reach down and pull out the plug I'm sitting on. Either way, I won’t be bored anymore."

I think the answer to that question depends a lot on one's interpretation of exactly what sort of experimentation Giles and Ethan got up to in college. :) Thanks!
