So before I go offline for a bit, I thought I'd post this fic. It's an expansion of an old drabble that I always thought could use a "But then what?" to get a bit more into their characters.

Title: Nice Girls Don't Stay For Breakfast

Summary: After the mess that was Homecoming and Slayerfest '98, Faith invites Buffy back to her motel for drinks. Fast forward a few hours and Buffy's emphatically NOT freaking out, just trying to figure out the best way to sneak out of a motel bed without waking Faith up.

( It felt weird, being the sneak-outer in this situation and not the sneak-outee. Not that she'd had a lot of these situations, obviously. Should she leave a note, or... OK, in her experience, correct protocol involved losing your soul and killing people, so pretty much anything she did would be better than that. Besides, Faith probably didn't want Buffy to be here when she woke up anyway. )

Secondly, here’s a fic inspired by a discussion with brutti_ma_buoni a little while ago, about how Faith would react to losing at various games like Rock-paper-scissors, Monopoly, etc.

open_on_sunday had the prompt "brought to you by the letter S and the number 3". Here's one idea, vaguely post-series:

Pattern Recognition

"Because you always fall for the same people," Dawn said. "You have a type."

"I do not!" Buffy protested. "Angel, dark and mysterious. Riley, mister Normality. Spike, bad boy with the motorcycle and leather. Where's the type?"

"And your first motorbiking bad-boy boyfriend who was completely different from Spike was ...?"

Buffy groaned. "Pike. Whatever, so maybe I have three types. That still doesn't mean I'll date anyone who's..."

"B?" Faith walked in, tossing her a helmet. "Let's motorvate. The Harley's souped up, those vamps ain't gonna dust themselves." She frowned as Dawn collapsed in giggles. "OK, what's the joke?"

Another couple of things for still_grrr's music month.

For the prompt "musicals", a banner which may make very little sense to anyone who doesn't watch It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, especially the two musical episodes featuring the magnificent saga of the Nightman and the Dayman (Youtube). But I just had to. And if I can make it so that at least a couple of people cannot watch "Orpheus" without hearing this song... my work is done. :-)
