Am I the only one who's been pelted with spam comments on DW in the last 36 hours or so?

Anyway, stuff:

[livejournal.com profile] sl_podcast and her loyal minions posted readings of a few more of my fics! Yay!
A Circular Argument For The Existence Of A Supervillain (original here)
Trail of the PBuffalo (original here)
Role Of The Dice (original here)

Also, I wrote a silly crossover drabble for [livejournal.com profile] angearia's absurd comment ficathon.

Prompt: Hunger Games/BtVS - ensemble, any - Maggie Walsh's journal serves as inspiration for the Capitol's experiments. Spoilers for the first Hunger Games book.

Hey people, did you know [livejournal.com profile] sl_podcast who used to run Buffy Between The Lines (for which I wrote an episode and a half) is currently working on both Angel and Firefly Between The Lines? And for added awesomeness, she's also running the Strangely Literal Podcast, which recently featured great readings of two of my fics, and I'm told there's more to come:
Eagles (original here)
The Roots Of All Evil (original here).

Quote of the day, from the marvellous Bookslut:

At the X-Men movie:

Me: "Why are there only white people in this movie?"
Friend: "The white people are metaphors for black people."

Also, I love fandom; it took about 2 hours after the latest Doctor Who episode before someone set up [livejournal.com profile] lizardladylove.

Next up: Spuffyness. I think.

Here's my episode of season 2 of the audio drama Buffy Between The Lines! (OK, only half the episode is mine, it was co-written with [livejournal.com profile] redrikki who did a fantastic job on her half.)

Listen to it here.

What's it about, you ask? Well, the season takes place between s2 and s3 of BtVS, but this is pretty much a standalone episode, so if you haven't listened to any of the previous episodes (though you should) it shouldn't stop you from hearing this one. But as for the plot, it's two intertwined stories in one: Faith's road to Sunnydale via New Orleans pre-s3 (that's [livejournal.com profile] redrikki's bit) and the story of Richard Wilkins from 1897 to 1998 (that's my bit). Which was fun, since I got to include some of my favourite mayor-related fanwanks, do some character study, write Richard/Edna Mae, and sneak in at least two blink-and-you'll-miss-them crossovers.

And as usual, I'm both awed by and grateful to [livejournal.com profile] sl_podcast and all the actors and crew on the show. You guys rock.

Script!

It just occurred to me that I left something off my year in review post: Buffy Between the Lines, the fan audio drama! Over the year, I had one script (written in 2007) produced and broadcast for season 1 and wrote half of another episode for the ongoing season 2.

And since I haven't posted the script for the first ep I wrote here, I might as well. So this is episode 11 of Buffy Between The Lines, the penultimate episode of the season, in all its pre-produced glory. I'm pretty happy with most of it.

If you want to listen to the episode, it's here. And since it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, the season finale is here.

Title: Oldies Night
Author: Beer Good
Rating: PG13
Word Count: Over 9000
Summary: Buffy Between the Lines takes place between seasons 5 and 6, tracking what happened with the Scoobies during the Buffy-less summer - Willow's descent into black magic, everyone dealing with their grief, deciding to raise Buffy, etc. At the same time, they have to deal with a new Big Bad - Javert, a vampire Spike once sired during a very drunken night in Paris, who's decided to rid the world of California once and for all and employed a few Sunnydale lowlives to help him out.

In the last episode, Javert kidnapped Dawn, who's been less than happy with the situation and feeling generally abandoned by everyone and a bit rebellious. Javert's plan for destroying California is nearly ready for execution, and the Scoobies have their hands full...

The play's the thing )

Yay! My episode of the audio drama Buffy Between the Lines is up! I'm listening to it right now and it's fantastic - with the actors and soundtrack and everything, I feel like I just wrote something for the real show. Huge thanks to everyone involved! Listen to it here.

Episode 11: Oldies Night. Dawn’s missing, men all over Sunnydale are showing up dead and the BuffyBot goes a little haywire. Can the scoobies find Dawn, work on resurrecting Buffy and deal with their Sunnydale’s newest threat?

For those of you who haven't been keeping up, a short "Previously on":

First of all, say it loud and say it proud:

Buffy Between the Lines premieres on Saturday. Don't miss it.
Thanks to the incredible [livejournal.com profile] sl_podcast for... well, just about everything BBTL-related, including the banner, I think.

Second of all: happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] speakr2customrs! I wanted to write you a Questionable Content/Sugarshock crossover drabble, but my muse just stared at me in horror.

Third of all: Yes, the third (and hopefully not last) issue of Sugarshock is out! Go! Read! Squirrels have no souls!

Fourth of all:
still_grrr banner )

Fifth of all: Go listen to Strangely Literal's interview with Scott Allie. Very interesting for s8 stuff, not just for the (not very surprising) confirmation that s8 spoiler )

Sixth of all: Since I won't get my copy of 8.07 until tomorrow, I did a couple of icons to tide me over. They're on the theme "Buffy in season 8 is in control, happy and content."

I exist in more than two dimensions! My fic has started to find its way beyond the pure written word! Check it out:

The new episode of the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] sl_podcast's podcast is she and [livejournal.com profile] alyrenee reading all of my fic Dawn of the Dead, and doing a damn fine job of it. (Sorry for making you sing the musical chapter, haha.) Listen to it here or at the Strangely Literal site.

Also, the latest teaser for Buffy: Between The Lines is a drabble o' mine, read by [livejournal.com profile] athenamuze.

Thanks a lot, guys!

ETA: two recs of fics that make something constructive out of all the arguing that's been going on lately:

[livejournal.com profile] stormwreath manages to come up with an almost-believable explanation for the s8 storyline. ;-) This Isn't About Hate (Amy/Warren, sort of)

And the truly inimitable [livejournal.com profile] stoney321 blows every crackfic author in the entire world out of the water with Spikerella, a Love Story For the Ages (Spike/Angel, AU, OOC, PMSL)

For [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday:

Nobody Tells You Where To Go

A/N: This is an Angel/Drive/Firefly crossover, if you believe that.

"Let's go to work." Angel raises the sword... and blacks out.

He wakes up in the passenger seat of a Dodge Challenger doing 110 down the highway.

"Welcome aboard." The driver holds out his right hand.

"Hey... aren't you that priest Buffy killed last year?"

"Nope. Name's Alex Tully, gardener. Big guy in the back seat's Jayne Cobb."

"Hey."

Angel looks behind him. Funny, the guy looks like Hamilton... "Where are we going?"

"Fox headquarters. The three of us are gonna have a little... 'chat' with Mr. Murdoch about cancelling shows." Tully floors it.

Angel smiles. "Let's go to work."

Also, this is going to be a lot of fun. I just need to get my script finished... completely out of excuses now.
