OK, what the heck. I'll try this LJ thing out. Just to have one place of my own to collect my fics.

Standard presentation:

I like to write. I like to watch anything Whedon-related. I like to combine the two. It tends to either get really silly or really angsty. Don't know what that says about me.

I really prefer to write one-shots, since I think fanfic above all needs to be true to the characters and you don't necessarily need plot for that; I'd rather read a well-written fic about Xander delivering pizza than a sloppy fic with lots of far-fetched stuff happening. Lately, though, I've been writing a bunch of different series, with the result that I end up not finishing either of them. But I'll try to get them done one by one, so if you're curious - none of the works-in-progress are abandoned, just on the backburner for now.

I pledge to never:

- Write a fic only because I want to see two specific characters get together.
- Make a character evil just to be evil. Or good just to be good. Hey, my favourite characters are Faith, Willow, Wesley and Jayne, do the math.
- Get rid of a good but obscure joke just because I'm the only one who gets it. I write these for myself, too.
- Kill a beloved character unless I can do it in an emotionally wrenching way... or a fun way... or a gory way... or a way that's going to piss people off... or any other reason I deem valid.
- Break any of the above rules. Unless I really want to.

Favourite stories I've written (and more or less finished)... I guess "Dawn of the Dead" and "No, Nina! Bad Nina!" for silliness, "The Singular Of Apocalypses" and "Atonement's a Bitch" for deep angsty stuff, and "Five By Five By Five By..." for just general weirdity. For reasons I'll not go into here I'm also quite proud of "It's A Wonderful Unlife".

What else... oh, not American, so if I get school systems, geography or slang wrong, blame my teachers.

I still think it works, and there are some chapters in here that I'm very proud of, but perhaps I wouldn't have written it the same way now.

Season 2: 'Passion' ends differently: Buffy doesn't get there in time and Giles dies. As Buffy tries to cope with the guilt, other forces idecide to take advantage. Enter a new team of watchers, headed by a certain principal, to guide Buffy THEIR way...

Principal Snyder is one of my favourite recurring characters, so I figure what the hell: kill Giles and let Snyder take over, see where that brings us. Deep angsty stuff. I really think this story has potential. I just need to get it out of writer's block land somehow. I know where it's going, but I just can't seem to get there from here...

Principal Snyder is one of my favourite recurring characters, so I figure what the hell: kill Giles and let Snyder take over, see where that brings us. Deep angsty stuff. I really think this story has potential. I just need to get it out of writer's block land somehow. I know where it's going, but I just can't seem to get there from here...

Atonement's A Bitch

...when you're an escaped murderer trying to fight alongside those you've hurt. But you'd hardly know it from Buffy s7, so this is a series of 'missing scene' fics about Faith’s and the others' attempts to deal with her past and present.

I love Faith. The five episodes she got on Angel are all among my favourite eps of that series, largely because of the interplay between Faith, Wes and Angel and the character development on all three of them when they get together. However, once she crossed back over to Buffy, a lot of that took a back seat. I wanted to explore what might happen behind the scenes, so this basically follows canon but hopefully with more character insight.

Some Velvet Morning When I'm Straight

Willow and Tara check into a motel room for some one-on-one time and everything is going great until they decide to watch a naughty video tape... well, kinda. Post-series in more ways than one. Basically it's cute and fluffy but weird. Well, kinda.

This was originally one and a half chapters in "The Hardest Walk", but they seemed too cute to be buried in all that darkness so I rewrote them and made it a separate fic. Exactly when this takes place is up for interpretation; it COULD be somewhere between early season 5 and early season 6, or AU after that, but... I always liked the idea that once the credits rolled on "Chosen", the characters would be free to go wherever their hearts desired. But of course, everything comes at a price. Poor Willow.
